Having a glamorous home means that it should be furnished with really cool and elegant. And a good home theater system is definitely a good addition to a home to make it look really glamorous.
But the problem with this is where to put your new home theater system like this one right here. Surely, you would not want it to look that clinical. And putting it in your living room might not be a really good idea.
One reason why a home theater system will not really fit in a living room is lighting. I am sure that you would want a really dramatic and theater-like atmosphere while you are watching your favorite movie. And living rooms are designed to have good natural lighting. Well, most of them anyway. So if you put your home theater system in your living room, you would have to close the curtains and stuff.
So, why not put it in your basement? The basement is a really good place to set up any home theater system. You will not be bothered by harsh lighting that can ruin your viewing pleasure. Plus, you can set up a really cool mood descending into the basement with well placed modern candle holders.

The bedroom is one of the most important parts of your home. This is the part of your home which you see first thing in the morning unless you passed out drunk in your living room the nigh before. And it is also the last room in your home which you will see before you go to sleep. It is the place where you can rest which makes it really important to keep it appealing to yourself.
But we are not gonna touch on that. This post is all about beds. Of course, there are different kinds of bed as there different kinds of dining room chairs. So with a little help from Rental Decorating, I would like to share to you this short list of bed styles and just how they look like.
- Daybed. Daybeds are twin beds. What makes them special is that they can double as couches if you position them against a wall. Being compact and versatile, daybeds are great for small spaces.
- Platform. Platform beds are elegantly simple, fitting in with just about any style of decor.
- Sleigh bed. Sleigh beds have curved headboards and foot boards that look like, well…a sleigh. There are simpler and more modern sleigh bed designs, so you can get one even if you are going for a more modern-looking room.
- Four post bed. You know this bed already: it’s the one with a post sticking up out of each corner. The posts can support a canopy, but the canopy is optional.
- Pencil post bed. Pencil post beds are like four-post beds, only the posts are tall and tapered like…well, pencils. Harking back to their heyday in the 1700s, pencil-post beds fit a room with colonial furnishings especially well.
So there you are, hope it helps you find that perfect bed for that perfect bedroom. Be back soon, bye for now.

Also, you would notice instantly that if you use natural tones, it will minimize the feeling of your home being cluttered. So, if you don’t want to have theta feeling that your home’s wall is closing in on you, you might want to try using neutral colors like the Japanese do.

There will always be a time that you will have guests in your home. And for that, you have to design your home to entertain them. Having trouble? Well, so did I until my mom taught me how to do things right. After all, we have received tons of visitors back in the days, and well, until now. So, I think it’s high time that I share it with the world.
For starters, you need to take into consideration the size of the event you will be hosting. If this is just a small gathering, you may not need to move furniture around but if it is a large one, you need some elbow grease to move those furniture around.
As space is very important at gatherings whether small or large, you need to plan where to put which furniture in. Remember that you have to allow your guests to navigate through your home without bumping into walls, furniture, and each other.
Also, take into consideration what the gathering is all about. You would need to have colors to fit the atmosphere of the meeting. Blue and green tones are suitable for formal settings while bold and loud colors makes for fun atmosphere.
After you have taken care of those things, it’s time to get to implement your plan and put your best foot forward.

Isn’t it good to know that your home looks comfortable and welcoming? It’s really easy to give your home that aura. All you need is a bit of inspiration and the inclination towards designing your home’s interior.
Certain furniture or fixtures add their own brand of charm to a home. Traditional decors may be comfortable to some but not all would go for traditional furniture. The same is true for conventional designs. After all, different strokes for different folks. But I think that in either a traditional or a contemporary designed home, a bean bag chair will not look out of place.
You see, there are a lot of bean bag chair designs out there. For example, you have a traditional-themed home; a leather bean bag chair will surely fit in right, especially if it is colored in an earthy tone which complements the other designs in your home. The advantage of using a bean bag chairs is of course, its unequaled comfort. Thanks to its polystyrene pellets, a bean bag chair conforms to the shape of the back or seat of the person occupying it. Leather though might get too uncomfortably warm. But in winter, it would be a really good place to sit on.
For homes with contemporary design, there are also bean bag chairs designed with clean lines and lively colors. So, let me sum this up by saying that I’m sure that a bean bag chair can easily fit into the design or theme of any room.

The kitchen is a very important part of any home. It is where you prepare the food for every meal. It is also the place where families gather to have their meals. At times, Visitors are invited to the kitchen for a celebration. That means the kitchen needs to have a lighting scheme that will blend with all these functions.
If for example, you have a fluorescent lighting for your kitchen; it is good since it provides bright lighting. That means you can prepare your meals with adequate lighting. But what if you are hosting a dinner which calls for dramatic and subdued lighting? There’s no way you can dim a fluorescent really so that means you have to find the right lighting scheme for your kitchen.
The ideal lighting for a kitchen is something that will provide adequate lighting for your food preparation needs. At the same time, it should not be too clinical that it will look too harsh at night. Going back to the fluorescent, its brightness may be too much especially if you have kitchen worktops which are made from highly reflective materials. Light can reflect from the surface and may prove to be a distraction.
What I mean here is that you should find a happy medium. Some people suggest the use of recessed down lights with wide beam lamps. This means that the light produced by the lamp is not centered on one area alone. With uniform lighting, you can have adequate light source while preparing your meals, and at the same time, it will not produce very harsh lighting during meal times.

Does your kitchen cabinet bland? Do you think it’s time to have them replaced but you don’t feel you’re up to spending that much for a new set? Why not try your artistic sense by jazzing it up.
If you are the person who loves challenges, you would surely like the idea of working on your old cabinet to turn it into something “new”. Basically, what you will need are water, paintbrushes, glaze, clean rag, primer sealer, sandpaper, paint, clear polyurethane, TSP or trisodium phosphate, glue or wood filler, detergent, or design blocks or stamps if you want.
First off, you need to remove the doors and the drawers and whatnot. In short, you have to disassemble your kitchen cabinet. Be careful doing this as you do not want to destroy anything. Then, clean the door/s with TSP or sandpaper if needed. If the doors are stained, you can use the detergent.
Once you have the doors and drawers cleaned, it is time to make repairs in any is needed with the assembly of the cabinet. Like if there are holes that needs plugging or the hinges needing replacement. With that out of the way, you can now start painting the doors and drawers. You don’t need to be good at drawing things as you can design your cabinet with abstract doodles if you want to.
Once the paint is dry and it has been coated with a protective coating, you are now ready to put it all back together. And there you are, a very easy way to turn old furniture into “new”.

When you hear that distinct rumble in the distance of several hundred ponies, you know that a group of bikers will soon be coming. Bikers are known for their hard-nosed attitude. Burt there is a softer side to them and that’s what BeanBagZone proved with their collection of bean bag chairs for bikers.
Well, after a long day or two riding on their horse’s saddles, I’m sure that bikers would appreciate something soft to rest their backsides on. The partnership between Bean Bag Zone and Harley-Davidson has created some cool-looking bean bag chairs.
The bean bag chairs created by said company sports the Harley-Davidson look which I think looks cool anywhere you put it. For the ladies who love bikes, Harleys especially, the manufacturer also offers custom colors which will suit their feminine taste. There are also chairs which are made for toddlers.
Realistically though, I think that serious bikers will not go after these products. I think that it will be those who would love to be free and run wild on a Harley who will buy these chairs. Well, that’s just me. You can leave your comment if you want to add something. That’s it for now guys, I’m off to lounge on my own ultra-comfy bean bag chair.
