The Colors Of 2008

Every year, we are told that this or that color will be “in”. Usually, it would be a color or two which will dominate the trend. But for this year, the forecast is that no singe color will dominate. That’s according to Ohio.com.

The report stated that Leatrice Eiseman, an expert in these thing said that no color can claim to be the hottest this year. Eiseman though predicted that the colors which consumers will be picking this year will be used in by consumers in a way that they are connected to cultural trends.

It is safe though to predict that the color green will be one of the most popular colors this year. The increasing awareness of the threat of global warming maybe a good reason for this. The usual colors used at home, blue, purple, and gray are also expected to be widely used this year. Pink is also set to receive attention this year especially during this month when everyone is looking for those valentine gift ideas.

Even though experts are saying that consumers will choose this or that color, it does not mean that you have to conform to their prediction. Since you have your own style, let no one tell you what you want for your home.

Breathe Life Into Your Basement

Having a glamorous home means that it should be furnished with really cool and elegant. And a good home theater system is definitely a good addition to a home to make it look really glamorous.

But the problem with this is where to put your new home theater system like this one right here. Surely, you would not want it to look that clinical. And putting it in your living room might not be a really good idea.

One reason why a home theater system will not really fit in a living room is lighting. I am sure that you would want a really dramatic and theater-like atmosphere while you are watching your favorite movie. And living rooms are designed to have good natural lighting. Well, most of them anyway. So if you put your home theater system in your living room, you would have to close the curtains and stuff.

So, why not put it in your basement? The basement is a really good place to set up any home theater system. You will not be bothered by harsh lighting that can ruin your viewing pleasure. Plus, you can set up a really cool mood descending into the basement with well placed modern candle holders.

Which Bed

The bedroom is one of the most important parts of your home. This is the part of your home which you see first thing in the morning unless you passed out drunk in your living room the nigh before. And it is also the last room in your home which you will see before you go to sleep. It is the place where you can rest which makes it really important to keep it appealing to yourself.

But we are not gonna touch on that. This post is all about beds. Of course, there are different kinds of bed as there different kinds of dining room chairs. So with a little help from Rental Decorating, I would like to share to you this short list of bed styles and just how they look like.

  • Daybed. Daybeds are twin beds. What makes them special is that they can double as couches if you position them against a wall. Being compact and versatile, daybeds are great for small spaces.
  • Platform. Platform beds are elegantly simple, fitting in with just about any style of decor.
  • Sleigh bed. Sleigh beds have curved headboards and foot boards that look like, well…a sleigh. There are simpler and more modern sleigh bed designs, so you can get one even if you are going for a more modern-looking room.
  • Four post bed. You know this bed already: it’s the one with a post sticking up out of each corner. The posts can support a canopy, but the canopy is optional.
  • Pencil post bed. Pencil post beds are like four-post beds, only the posts are tall and tapered like…well, pencils. Harking back to their heyday in the 1700s, pencil-post beds fit a room with colonial furnishings especially well.

So there you are, hope it helps you find that perfect bed for that perfect bedroom. Be back soon, bye for now.
